Holden Light will repair the overhead electrical line that runs from the utility pole to your home and we will also maintain the electric meter (#1 and #5 on the diagram), whether it is attached to the building on the outside or inside.
The customer or property owner is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing all equipment beyond the service connection except for the electric meter. This includes the following numbers on diagram:

Who’s responsible for your Underground Electric Service?
The Holden Municipal Light Department delivers electricity to some homes by an underground system. This service goes from the utility pole or a transformer to your home.
The electric system consists of 4 components.
1) The Underground Service Entrance. This wire on your property runs from the HMLD pole or transformer to the electric meter box and then into the main service panel.
2) The Meter Box is the hardware your meter is plugged into.
3) The Electric Meter which is the instrument that measures the amount of electricity you are using.
4) The Main Service Panel which holds the fuses or circuit breakers that protect your electric service.
As homeowners, you are responsible for installing and repairing components 1, 2, and 4. The HMLD is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the delivery system such as poles, wires, transformers and other equipment. The HMLD is additionally responsible for the electric meter which is component # 3.
