TOWN OF HOLDEN / CASELLA RESIDENTIAL
TRASH & SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING PROGRAM
FOR 2010-2011
STICKERS:
- If you have Plan A ($17.00), your sticker will be orange.
- If you have Plan B ($11.75), your sticker will be green.
- If your sticker does not match your plan, please notify the Trash and Recycling Department immediately at (508) 210-5402. If the sticker color and toter plan do not match, or if your toter does not have a new 2010-2011 sticker, your trash will not be picked up.
- Remove as much of the yellow 2008 sticker as possible. Then clean and dry the area before attaching the 2010-2011 sticker. The new sticker should be located on the lid toward the front of the blue toter. Do not put the sticker on the green recycling toter.
RECYCLING:
- Thank you for your efforts in recycling. Recycling keeps our costs low.
- Use your green toter for all recyclable material.
- Extra recycling materials may be put out in any open container next to your recycling bin.
- At the Town Hall we have free large green labels marked “RECYCLABLES” should you want to label your extra containers.
BULK ITEMS:
- Burnable bulk item stickers are available at the Town Hall for a cost of $25.00 per sticker.
- Purchase the sticker at the Town Hall, then call Casella at (888) 532-2735 to schedule a collection date.
- Non-burnable/white goods pick-ups must be paid directly to Casella.
- Bulk item collections are scheduled for every other Thursday.
- Bulk items can be dropped off for a fee at the Wachusett Earthday Recycle Center.
OVERFLOW BLUE BAGS:
- Any extra trash that does not fit into the BLUE toter (with the lid closed) must be put in Town of Holden blue overflow trash bags.
- Overflow bags may be purchased at the following locations: Big Y, Holden Mobil, Rite Aide, Honey Farms, Jeds Hardware, Rocky's Ace Hardware, and the Town Hall.
- The blue overflow bags are sold in sleeves of 5 for $6.25.
Town of Holden Trash Collection Policy for Inclement Weather
- Every effort will be made to collect trash on your scheduled day as long as weather and road conditions will allow Cassella's staff to do so safely.
- If your trash is not collected by 6:00 p.m on the scheduled day, please leave it out.
- Every effort will be made to collect trash the next day.
- Please remember to keep trash and recycle bins back from the road to allow for road and sidewalk plowing operations.
- If trash collection is cancelled we will have an announcement on WTAG-AM and WSRS-FM, and the Town of Holden web page will be updated to reflect the cancellation.
- If trash is cancelled, all the scheduled trash collections for the remainder of the week will be moved back one day.
- This procedure is the same one used for major holidays.
- In advance, THANK YOU for your cooperation when the weather causes delays or cancellation to the trash and recycling collection.
