Municipal Lien Certificates
To request a Municipal Lien Certificate from the Town of Holden, please include the following information with your request:
Record Name of the property owner
Property address
Parcel identification
If you do not know the parcel identification number, you may go to the Assessors’ page on this web site and follow the steps to obtain parcel information. You must do this only once, after which you will have a user ID and password which can be used to obtain the parcel identification number for any property in the Town of Holden.
Requests should be sent to: Office of the Collector, 1204 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520.
You must also include with your request:
A check made payable to the Town of Holden in the amount of $25. 00 per parcel. (Please be aware that many residences are made up of two or more contiguous parcels. If the property owner receives more than one tax bill for the residence, then more than one Municipal Lien Certificate may be required.)
A stamped, self-addressed envelope.
By Massachusetts law, we have 10 business days from the time the request is received in this office to generate the Municipal Lien Certificate. Every attempt is made to shorten that turnaround time, but particularly during vacation and holiday times, or other busy times of the year, it may take the entire 10 days allowed by law to process your request.
PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO REQUEST YOUR MUNICIPAL LIEN CERTIFICATE.
