1. Friday Before Christmas - With thanks to the Selectmen, town business offices will close at 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 22, 2006 in observance of Christmas. Offices will re-open on Tuesday, December 26 at the usual time.

2. Welcome Aldrich Fund - We are pleased to report that we have received over 52 donations to the Welcome Aldrich Fund following the placement of an envelope in customer utility bills. Thank you to all those who have contributed. Your donation will directly help town residents with payment of their heating and utility bills.

3. Y-T-D Revenue and Expenditures - Enclosed are the monthly revenue and expenditure reports for the period ending November 30, 2006, as prepared by Helen Graf, Town Accountant.

4. Auction of Town-Owned Property - Attached is a spreadsheet showing the results of the December 6, 2006 land auction. Eight parcels out of twenty were sold. The good news is that we netted $149,000 which will be available to be deposited into our newer capital fund that is subset of the IIF.
Overall, the slowed real estate market certainly had an affect on the purchase prices of the buildable or near buildable pieces. That having been said, there was a pronounced lack of enthusiasm in the room. Paul Zekos, our Auctioneer, did his best but the mood of the room was just not one that generated the excitement and spending that I might have expected going in. In any event, we have concluded the sale and have inventory to add to any new acquisitions for a future one. The eight lots will now become taxable and at the end of the day they were of no cash value to us as holdings.

6. Tax Bills - After extended delays by the Department of Revenue, Division of Local Services in reviewing and approving our tax rate, we have prepared the tax bills and they will be sent (by an outside vendor) before the end of the year. Special thanks to Bev Potvin, Principal Assessor and her staff, the Board of Assessors, Jean Berg, Treasurer/ Collector and her staff, and Doug Nelson, Systems Administrator for their diligence and extra work to see this very important process completed.
