Summer 2008 COMPOSTING SCHEDULE and GUIDELINES
1. Leaves, Grass Clippings and Brush will be accepted at the Composting Facility located at the site of the former landfill on River St. for HOLDEN RESIDENTS ONLY.
2. Commercial loads will not be accepted. Only cars, pickup trucks and small trailers will be allowed.
3. Proof of residency will be required.

Saturday, September 27, 2008 - Town of Holden Landfill has CANCELLED the scheduled composting for September 27 due to the Asian Longhorned Beetle.
Hours of Operation: 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
Please take notice: The operation may cease sooner due to weather or capacity of the site.
5. Only loose leaves, grass clippings and small amounts of brush will be accepted. Leaves and grass clippings brought to the site in bags and/or containers must be removed from the bags and/or containers. The bags and/or containers must be removed from the site by the residents.
6. Brush shall be limited to branches with a Diameter GREATER THAN 1 INCH and less than six (6) INCHES. Brush must be separated from the leaves and grass clippings and brought to the chipping area by the residents. NO ROOTS, STUMPS, BUSHES, BRIARS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
7. Any items which are determined BY DPW PERSONEL to be not acceptable will be required to be removed from the site by the residents who delivered them.
