TOWN OF HOLDEN ANNUAL TOWN ELECTION - MAY 14, 2007

ANNUAL TOWN ELECTION - MAY 14, 2007

The election was called to order by the various Wardens in Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 at 7:00 o’clock in the forenoon.  The following were sworn in as Election Officers:

Precinct 1.  Warden:  Beth T. Clay.  Others: Betty A. Gustafson, Kathleen E. Welsh, Joy B. Keskula, Marta C. Nawn, and Cynthia A. Patterson.

Precinct 2.   Warden:  Nina A. Gibbons.  Others:  Karin L. Brewer, Blanche F. Pettis, Ellen M. Maynard, Patricia A. Pearson, Agnes B. Sahagian and Bradford G. Blodget.

Precinct 3.  Warden:  Gloria L. Goewey.  Others:  Alice S. Carr, Douglas C. Eichholz, Betty J. Carlson, Kathleen M. Paracer, and Ann A. Scalzulli.

Precinct 4.  Warden:  Renate L. Hillhouse.  Others:  Pauline A. Brodeur, L. Eileen MacLeod, Janet L. Eichholz, Gayle C. Marshall, and Janet A. Monroy.

Precinct 5.  Warden:  Phyllis M. Olson.   Others:  Barbara L. Olson, Nancy R. Fournier, Marion E. Anderson, Margaret E. Regele, and Ann F. Avakian.

The ballot box in each precinct was opened and found to be empty, and each tabulator tape was examined to insure there were no votes already listed.

QUESTION 1 – To see if the voters in the Town of Holden will recommend that the Wachusett Regional School District Committee develop an action plan that will limit any future growth of the current Committee membership; make every effort to downsize the Committee; develop a Committee makeup that is consistent with the Constitution of the United States and all laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with respect to “One Man-One Vote.”

The polls were closed at 8:00 p.m.  The tabulating concluded at 10:30 p.m., and the results of the election were announced.  It was voted at 10:45 p.m. to adjourn the meeting until Monday, May 21, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Mountview School auditorium.
