H1N1 CLINIC

The Town of Holden Board of Health will offer a free H1N1 Flu Clinic for Holden Residents on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Davis Hill Elementary School.  The target groups to be served are as follows:

  • Pregnant women, up to 2 weeks post partum
  • People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
  • Health care and emergency medical services personnel
  • Children 6 months through 24 years of age
  • Persons 25 through 64 years of age who have chronic medical conditions (see below for list of medical conditions issued by the Department of Public Health)
Pre-registration for the clinic is required.  Those Holden residents interested in receiving the H1N1 vaccine, who meet the above criteria, should pre-register via the internet, at the Wachusett Regional School District Website starting December 28, 2009:


Once you are at the Web site, follow the links to register for specific appointment times.  You may want to download the applicable forms from the web site and have them completed prior to arriving at your appointment.  However, forms will be available for completion at the clinic.    Registration for time slots is planned according to the amount of vaccine that is available. Future clinics will be scheduled by the town as more vaccine is received.

Chronic Conditions that Confer a Higher Risk for Influenza-Related Complications

The chronic medical conditions are similar to those associated with seasonal influenza.  

  • Pulmonary disease (including asthma).
  • Cardiovascular disease (excluding hypertension).
  • Renal, hepatic, hematologic, or metabolic disorders (including diabetes mellitus)
  • Cognitive neurologic/neuromuscular disorders.  This includes developmental delay, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and seizure disorder.
  • Immunosuppression
